We are looking for a shipping and receiving clerk for our Milpitas, CA Facility in the Bay area. This person will be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing packages in support of system production activities and other facility activities. This role also includes the responsibility of maintaining the production inventory. The ideal candidate must be able to work under minimum supervision, and as part of a team, with a deep sense of urgency to meet the department's goals. You will be responsible for the smooth flow of work through the production center, meeting quality and turn-around time expectations, Continual Improvement initiatives to ensure ever-improving customer experience and employee satisfaction, and advance preparation for innovative technology, and service volume as Rohde & Schwarz continues extraordinary growth in providing RF solutions to our customers.

Your tasks

  • Package, secure, load and coordinate extremely sensitive electronic equipment and systems.
  • Manage pickup and drop-off services in the Bay Area, including van loading/unloading and customer communication.
  • Support Facility Management with internal equipment transfers.
  • Assist with project and campaign logistics (e.g., demo logistics, campaigns).
  • Perform pre-cleaning, safety checks, and device preparation to support technicians.
  • Track daily activities and time for workload analysis.
  • Use Smartsheet to track shipments and status updates.
  • Align workload planning with campaign and project needs.
  • Support technical teams with pickups/deliveries while customer on-sites in the bay area.
  • Suggest Lean process improvements for shipping operations.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, when necessary, both verbally and in writing.
  • Notify supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, substitutions, or damages.
  • Run basic materials reports and maintains dock and storage facilities
  • Receive, unpack, and deliver goods, restocks items, as necessary.
  • Label shelves using strict adherence to Lean 5S principles.
  • Maintain all necessary documents to support shipping and inventory activity through SAP.
  • Perform all the activities associated with the +$50M warehouse and inventory.
  • Maintain inventory levels of stock using Lean KANBAN system.
  • Conduct frequent audits of physical inventory, with periodic physical inventory audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager

Your qualifications

  • High school diploma and Minimum of 3 years of SAP experience or similar ERP in a warehouse.
  • Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse procedures: Receiving and Inventory Control.
  • Must have basic measurement and math skills, basic hand tools, and measuring instruments
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter and motivated to support the development and improvement of existing methods.
  • The ideal candidate must be flexible to work overtime as needed, including weekends if necessary.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Outlook).
  • Understanding material maintenance, product codes and terms, kitting, production orders, etc.
  • Forklift experience preferred (in-house training available).
  • Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting throughout the shift and lift to 50 pounds at a time.
  • To be considered, candidates must be located in the US and have valid US work authorization.

The total compensation for this position is $20-$33 per hour. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
