Student partnership: Shell Eco-Marathon

The Shell Eco-marathon is an international challenge where students push the limits of energy efficiency in vehicle design. Far more than a traditional race, it serves as a platform for innovation - encouraging the next generation of engineers to explore how technology can shape a more sustainable future.

Participants are tasked with designing and building ultra-efficient vehicles, applying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in practical, creative ways. The event not only tests technical skill but also inspires collaboration, problem-solving, and forward-thinking approaches to energy use.

This year, a team from Imperial College London received support from Rohde & Schwarz in their Eco-marathon journey. Equipped with advanced testing and measurement solutions - such as the RTH1004 and NGP800 Power Supply, along with the RTM3004 Oscilloscope - the students were able to fine-tune their design, optimize performance, and push the boundaries of fuel economy.
