This video demonstrates how to make basic measurements of coaxial cables using VNA mode on the Rohde & Schwarz FPC1500 analyzer.
About cable measurements:
- Generally used to describe measurements of coaxial cables
 - All cables attenuate signals passing through them - Sometimes called "insertion loss"
 - The attenuation or loss of a cable is a function of both the cable length and the frequency of the signal. Loss usually increases linearly with length (dB/meter)
 - Most cables have increasing loss as frequency increases
 - Cable loss is can be reported as: Loss for the entire cable and/or Loss at as a function of frequency (table or graph).
 - Cable loss is often measured using a vector network analyzer
