View interactive electronic technical documentation (IETD)

R&S®IETDView is our viewing environment for your technical documentation.

To create, validate and view S1000D documents, the content must be visually presented and converted to an appropriate standard format. The original ASD/AIA S1000D format is not suitable for direct visual presentation of the content. R&S®IETDView offers users who perform repairs, calibration, maintenance and other tasks a standardized view of S1000D data. Users benefit from a solution trusted by the German armed forces (Bundeswehr). R&S®IETDView is a key component of the Bundeswehr’s BESTD project to standardize technical documentation software.

Our value proposition

Intuitive user interface

Operating R&S®IETDView does not require any special training. Many of the functions are familiar to users from web browsers. Extensive context-sensitive online help is also provided.

Intelligent links with return function

In R&S®IETDView, interactive links are not a one-way street. Every link has an internal return mark. The integrated context-sensitive history function allows users to navigate back and forth between links as desired. They can more accurately control the returns than is possible with the conventional history functions available in web browsers.

Dynamic PDF creation for data modules, graphics and tables

R&S®IETDView can selectively print parts of a S1000D document, such as chapters, figures or tables. Each printable object is marked with a printer symbol that converts the content into a PDF file with a single click. This also applies to data compilations, such as all of the spare parts data contained in an S1000D document.

Convenience functions

To make it easier to find S1000D content, R&S®IETDView provides several search modes: data module, graphic, spare part, publication and full text. A bookmark function allows users to bookmark frequently needed content so they can easily find it again. The advantage over browser bookmarks is that these bookmarks are saved independently of a particular browser or computer.
