Rohde & Schwarz and Comprion announce availability of R&S test profiles for eSIM device testingMobile devices with a conventional sim card interface were previously configured via a special test SIM card so that they were optimally prepared for testing with the intended network simulator in the test lab. For mobile devices containing a physically inaccessible eSIM (embedded SIM), this device configuration now takes place digitally via the COMPRION eSIM Test Profile Service.

Rohde & Schwarz and VIAVI demonstrate 5G NR high-speed downlink IP data throughput using 8x FR1 and FR2 component carriersEnhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) is the use case of 5G NR which supports the ever-increasing end user data rate and system capacity, as mobile devices integrate more and more internet-based services and applications. At MWC21, T&M specialists Rohde & Schwarz and VIAVI Solutions will demonstrate a 5G NR eMBB end-to-end test scenario in 5G SA mode (standalone 5G) exceeding for the first time a high-speed data throughput of 7.5 Gbps. The demonstration paves the way for upcoming data rates up to 10 Gbps. This high throughput rate means mobile subscribers will soon benefit from 4K video streams or augmented reality.

Rohde & Schwarz and VIAVI cooperate to advance their 5G NR test coverageT&M specialists Rohde & Schwarz and VIAVI Solutions verify their respective test equipment on correct implementation for 5G NR and LTE. This exchange between the two companies will help accelerate UE commercialization. The verification is based on the R&S CMX500 5G NR wideband radio communication tester by Rohde & Schwarz and the TM500 network tester for user equipment (UE) emulation by VIAVI.

Rohde & Schwarz and MediaTek verify 5G LBS Release 16 features on the R&S TS-LBS test solutionRohde & Schwarz and MediaTek have successfully verified new location based services (LBS) features for 5G NR as defined in 3GPP Release 16. These features will not only improve emergency caller location, but also support upcoming LBS-related use cases in challenging indoor and outdoor environments with both, satellite based and terrestrial technologies. Rohde & Schwarz has extended the R&S TS-LBS test solution to support these and other Release 16 network based positioning features.
