Located in the rapidly growing Senai Airport City cluster, this development brings Rohde & Schwarz into the heart of Johor’s high-tech industrial expansion. The area has already attracted hundreds of investors with nearly RM 8 billion (approx. SGD 2.3 billion) in committed investments to date. Several new advanced manufacturing and modular facilities are underway in the area, reflecting demand for state-of-the-art infrastructure. The facility’s proximity to Singapore also enhances cross-border supply chain connectivity and supports the region’s growing high-value manufacturing ecosystem.
Gan Seng Keong, Chief Executive Officer of Senai Airport City, said: “The decision by Rohde & Schwarz to locate at Senai Airport City Free Zone demonstrates the continued momentum of precision engineering and high-value manufacturing clusters within our ecosystem. This reflects the confidence multinational companies (MNCs) have in Senai Airport City’s well-developed infrastructure, strong governance, and skilled workforce. We look forward to collaborating with more international partners who can grow alongside Senai Airport City and contribute to strengthening Johor’s advanced manufacturing sector.”
Andy Goh, Managing Director of Rohde & Schwarz Asia, said: “With this new facility, Rohde & Schwarz demonstrates its commitment to long-term growth in the region. We are pleased to partner with Equalbase, reflecting our shared commitment to environmental sustainability and quality. We look forward to building a world-class manufacturing facility specializing in highly accurate and complex electronic products, enabling us to expand our production footprint globally while partnering with skilled local engineers and companies to provide innovative and reliable solutions for our customers.”
The build-to-suit facility by Equalbase will feature approximately 100,000 square feet GFA of high-spec manufacturing space with integrated warehousing facilities, designed to support both logistics and electronic device manufacturing. Constructed on a land parcel of 210,000 square feet, with potential for future expansion, the single-storey development will begin operations in Q1 2027.
This integrated concept reflects the increasing demand for facilities that serve as both operational and production hubs, enabling greater supply chain efficiency and agility. Equalbase, together with its investment management arm Northmod combines sustainable development with strategic investment capabilities to support the growth of new-economy assets.
Strategically situated at Senai Airport City, the site offers access to highly skilled manpower, proximity to Singapore, and strong infrastructure with seamless connections to major transportation routes. The area is also attracting a growing cluster of global manufacturers and advanced-technology firms.
Nicholas Bischoff, Chief Executive Officer of Equalbase, said: “This partnership with Rohde & Schwarz continues our legacy of delivering high-quality, build-to-suit facilities for industry leaders who place their trust in Equalbase. We are proud to be working alongside a company that shares our values on sustainability and innovation. This project marks another step in the growth of highly modern, future-ready facilities in Malaysia for us, and it is exciting to collaborate with such a distinguished customer at the forefront of their field.”
