Software Development : Working Student DevOps (m/f/d)

Your tasks

• Participate in designing and executing operating system tests using PyTest and Shell
• Assist in developing and maintaining features for our in-house Yocto-based Linux distribution
• Support the implementation of system functionalities and optimizations
• Assist in managing and improving the CI/CD pipeline using GitLab-CI and Kubernetes
• Help optimize and maintain the build pipeline for large C++ codebases
• Ensure the reliability and efficiency of build and deployment processes, including nightly builds and merge request pipelines
• Present technical solutions and advancements in areas like C++ Build, GitLab-CI, and Kubernetes to team members
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, including Linux debugging and infrastructure problems
• Support cross-platform software development initiatives using platform-independent C++, system-oriented C programming, Yocto SDKs, CMake, Conan, and containers

Your qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Good understanding of Linux and basic understanding of Windows
• Proficiency in Python programming language
• Basic knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git
• Familiarity with a scripting language (e.g. Bash or Powershell) is a plus
• Interest in learning about CI/CD tools, such as GitLab-CI
• Willingness to learn about cloud technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Interest in programming languages such as C and C++
• Willingness to learn about build tools and package managers like CMake and Conan
• Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and improving technical skills
• Ability to work independently, proactively find tasks, and manage time effectively
• Strong communication skills to share progress regularly and address challenges
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills in English, German is a plus but not required
