New compliance test automation software from Rohde & Schwarz for IEEE 802.3 cable assemblies allows for precise and time-saving compliance tests of high-speed cables and backplanes according to the IEEE 802.3bj, by, cd and ck standards. The R&S ZNrun vector network analyzer automation suite controls a vector network analyzer and a switching solution from Rohde & Schwarz to provide automated testing of high-speed Ethernet cable assemblies, considerably reducing the testing time and potential errors compared to manual Ethernet cable assembly test methods. Rohde & Schwarz demonstrates the solution for the first time at DesignCon 2022 in Santa Clara, California.

Academia and key industry players have identified the D-Band, ranging from 110 GHz to 170 GHz, as a candidate frequency band for beyond 5G and 6G mobile communications as well as for future automotive radar applications. La célula pequeña es una estación base compacta con un diseño más pequeño y una potencia de trasmisión más baja en comparación con la estación base macro convencional. Cubre áreas relativamente pequeñas y da servicio a menos usuarios. Por lo general, la célula pequeña puede integrarse en la red de telefonía celular que se dispone. Con la evolución de la tecnología de acceso radioeléctrico, el papel de la célula pequeña ha venido cambiando a lo largo de esta evolución. En la era 2G/3G, su función fue brindar cobertura en las esquinas (corner cases). Posteriormente, con LTE, las redes no solo proporcionaban cobertura sino también capacidad. Con los casos de uso que requieren despliegues de bandas de ondas milimétricas (mmW) para 5G, tiene sentido utilizar células pequeñas para la densificación debido a las propiedades de propagación que poseen estas ondas.En esta nota de aplicación nos enfocaremos en los aspectos de prueba de una célula pequeña a lo largo del ciclo de vida del producto. Nos centraremos especialmente en la solución de prueba de producción para el dispositivo de célula pequeña bajo prueba en la banda FR2 (gama de frecuencias 2, banda milimétrica) en un entorno over-the-air (OTA) para la opción 6 dividida en función del probador de radiocomunicaciones R&S®CMP200 y la cámara OTA R&S®CMQ200.
