Este documento se divide en dos partes y comienza con una introducción a los principios de conversión CA-CC en general. Presentará los circuitos más utilizados para los diferentes niveles de potencia. El convertidor de fuente de poder conmutada (SMPS) será el enfoque principal de este documento debido a que se utiliza en todas las partes en la electrónica. Se resalta de manera especial el diseño de convertidores de transferencia indirecta de diferentes tipos. Sin embargo, todas las mediciones también se aplican a otros diseños de convertidores de SMPS que funcionan a niveles de potencia más altos.En la segunda parte de este documento se destacan los métodos y procedimientos de prueba más importantes de un convertidor CA-CC.
