Why is it needed to frequently run backups?

Using ELEKTRA I have found a backup dialog. For daily use, is it needed to run backups using this tool?

I would like to do a Reference Calibration using ELEKTRA and Field Probe. For this I have to do Reference Calibrations at 16 positions, this does mean my Field Probe have to be set to each of the 16 predefined points. I set the probe positions manually, so an error can occur by mistake. Is it possible to repeat a measurement for a sensor position, if needed?
