Rohde & Schwarz celebrates the 30th anniversary of Emirates subsidiary
Abu Dhabi, May 27, 2024 — Rohde & Schwarz Emirates L.L.C., a partnership between Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) and Capital Investment UAE, was founded in May 1994. “Over the last 30 years, we have become a long-term partner and it has been a great privilege to witness the incredible transformation of the UAE,” said Patrick Brodda, Managing Director of Rohde & Schwarz Emirates L.L.C. From its humble beginnings as a small office in Abu Dhabi, Rohde & Schwarz Emirates L.L.C. has become the first private company in the UAE to be named a competence center for test, measurement and calibration of electronic equipment in all fields of modern communications (2007). Rohde & Schwarz Emirates L.L.C. still provides leading communications and radio technology products.
Three decades of high-quality, innovation-driven technology
1999 was the right time to enter the mobile communications market with test and measurement products, thanks to growing demand fueled by the worldwide boom in GSM telephones.
Constant commitment to technical innovations and high-quality standards also resulted in major broadcast and media collaborations. In the following years, Emirates Media commissioned Rohde & Schwarz Emirates L.L.C. to equip and deliver most of the transmitter stations in the UAE for FM radio and VHF/UHF television.
Since early 2000, Rohde & Schwarz Emirates L.L.C. has been a strong and reliable partner for sustainable collaboration in secure communications, communications intelligence and spectrum monitoring with the UAE Armed Forces and government authorities. Our relocation to the Aldar HQ building in 2014 not only reinforced this dedication but also facilitated a closer alignment with the defense and security sectors.
More recently, the GCAA awarded Rohde & Schwarz Emirates L.L.C. the radio replacement project and the company delivered a series of radio communication upgrades as well as innovative mobile ATC solutions at the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre in Abu Dhabi. The company’s strong in-country presence and comprehensive system capabilities have made Rohde & Schwarz Emirates L.L.C. a strategic and reliable partner for the UAE armed forces.
