The term “calibration” is widely used in EMC – but with different meanings, depending on context. It is either about traceability (on products, services and metrology), correction / compensation of path loss or gain, or performance verification of instruments, to name a few.
This presentation includes a summary of normative requirements and what should be looked at when ordering calibration services.
In addition the kinds of measurements that can (and should) be done in an EMC lab to make sure the signal chain works as intended, and how to reveal and localize problems, are also considered.
