The European OTIC in Berlin at the i14y Lab finalized their first successful certification of an O-RAN radio unit according to O-RAN ALLIANCE. The i14y Lab has relied on the integrated solution for O-RU conformance testing by Rohde & Schwarz and VIAVI.

This consists of VIAVI’s TM500 O-RU Tester, the R&S®SMW200A high-performance vector signal generator and the R&S®FSVA3000 signal and spectrum analyzer from Rohde & Schwarz. ORAN, R&S®SMW200A, R&S®FSVA3000, FE44S , VIAVI RU Tester, MTS5800, O-RU (from ADI) O-RAN, with option 7-2 split, enables the disaggregation of Radio Access Networks.

Rohde & Schwarz and VIAVI Solutions have presented their integrated solution for conformance testing of O-RAN Radio Units at the recent O-RAN ALLIANCE Global PlugFest Fall 2023, hosted at the i14y Lab in Berlin – supported by Deutsche Telekom and EANTC and i14y consortium partners.

Together with the R&S®SMW200A vector signal generator and the R&S®FSVA3000 signal and spectrum analyzer, this setup provides a cost-efficient solution for 5G RF characterization tests. 5G FR2 RF testing, FSVA3044, Tailored solution for OTA measurements thanks to high-frequency frontend modules which can be placed close to measurement chamber.

Together with the R&S®SMW200A vector signal generator and the R&S®FSVA3000 signal and spectrum analyzer, this setup provides a cost-efficient solution for 5G RF characterization tests.
