Enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) is the use case of 5G NR which supports the ever-increasing end user data rate and system capacity, as mobile devices integrate more and more internet-based services and applications. At MWC21, T&M specialists Rohde & Schwarz and VIAVI Solutions will demonstrate a 5G NR eMBB end-to-end test scenario in 5G SA mode (standalone 5G) exceeding for the first time a high-speed data throughput of 7.5 Gbps. The demonstration paves the way for upcoming data rates up to 10 Gbps. This high throughput rate means mobile subscribers will soon benefit from 4K video streams or augmented reality.

CSA Group, a global leader in testing, inspection and certification, has built a new European headquarters in Plattling in the State of Bavaria, Germany. As part of this project, CSA Group is considerably expanding its testing capabilities for German and European customers. Kyocera has developed an innovative mmWave phased array antenna module (PAAM) that simultaneously creates multiple beams in different directions at different frequencies. These PAAMs can enable a wide range of 5G FR2 infrastructure installations, including site co-location of different operators running networks on different frequency bands, as well as critical infrastructure threat-sensing, homeland security, and other high-reliability applications. To ensure optimal beam steering and beam directivity of its groundbreaking product, Kyocera relies on CATR-based multi-reflector Over-the-Air (OTA) testing technology from Rohde & Schwarz.
