Rohde & Schwarz USA, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager in our Hillsboro, OR location to provide strategic direction, coordination, and oversight of supply chain, R&D and customer projects within our RF Plasma Generation business unit. Top applicants will possess strong project management experience in entrepreneurial environments, a demonstrated ability to communicate and inspire across teams and functions in an international environment, technical and entrepreneurial gravitas, and experience managing products and vendors through the entire product lifecycle.

Your tasks

  • End-to-End Responsibility: Take responsibility for handling project coordination on an international scope in the Semiconductor and RF Plasma Generation domain. Facilitate agreements and alignments with R&D and Business unit for customer projects – from requirements analysis to final customer acceptance. Establish business operational procedures across the organization in close alignment with supply chain to ensure delivery of customer projects and products meeting performance and schedule requirements. Contribute to the annual strategic business planning process.
  • Entrepreneurial Scope: Define project objectives, ensure implementation, and secure project profitability (Gross Margin) and delivery, always focusing on cost, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Organization & Resources: Establish a project organization midterm and align internal resource and schedule planning.
  • Cross-Functional Realization: Functional lead of the future core and extended project team and act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner & Supplier Management: Setup a strategic Vendor management process in close alignment with the Sales organization. Manage internal/external partners, coordinate deliveries, and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  • Transparency & Reporting: Provide regular reports to management and customers, ensure visibility of progress, and proactively address deviations with actionable solutions.
  • Risk, Claim & Change Management: Identify risks, claims, and opportunities early and implement targeted countermeasures.
  • Sales Support: Contribute your project expertise during the proposal phase, laying the foundation for commercially successful contracts.

Your qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in engineering, communications technology, computer science, systems engineering, business administration, or a comparable qualification.
  • Proven 5+ years of experience managing projects and possessing in-depth knowledge of customer requirements for sophisticated solutions.
  • Expertise in risk, claim, and opportunity management as well as contract negotiation.
  • Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies; familiarity with agile methods is a plus and experience in strategic Vendor management.
  • Experience in a matrix organization and strong communication skills within and across organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to make decisions under uncertainty, communicating them clearly, and acting with a solution-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to create well organized clear presentation of information in Office (Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 25% and can easily adapt to cultural differences.
  • Proven experience working in international teams and bring the flexibility to work across different time zones
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry and having an established network there is a plus.
  • In order to be considered, candidates must reside in the US and have permanent work authorization.

The total compensation for this position is $156K-$215K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
