Rohde & Schwarz presents first automated test solution for high-speed Ethernet cable assemblies up to IEEE 802.3ckNew compliance test automation software from Rohde & Schwarz for IEEE 802.3 cable assemblies allows for precise and time-saving compliance tests of high-speed cables and backplanes according to the IEEE 802.3bj, by, cd and ck standards. The R&S ZNrun vector network analyzer automation suite controls a vector network analyzer and a switching solution from Rohde & Schwarz to provide automated testing of high-speed Ethernet cable assemblies, considerably reducing the testing time and potential errors compared to manual Ethernet cable assembly test methods. Rohde & Schwarz demonstrates the solution for the first time at DesignCon 2022 in Santa Clara, California.

Rohde & Schwarz and IHP first to characterize D-band frequencies in over-the-air test setup for 6G and automotive radarAcademia and key industry players have identified the D-Band, ranging from 110 GHz to 170 GHz, as a candidate frequency band for beyond 5G and 6G mobile communications as well as for future automotive radar applications. Rohde & Schwarz continues its pioneering sub-THz research efforts with focus in this frequency range, reaching new milestones. In collaboration with IHP, Rohde & Schwarz has performed the industry’s first full 2D/3D antenna characterization of transceiver modules operating in the D-Band.

A célula pequena é uma estação rádio-base menor, com um design mais compacto e uma potência de transmissão mais baixa em comparação com a estação rádio-base macro convencional. Ela abrange uma área relativamente pequena e atende menos usuários. Geralmente, a célula pequena pode ser integrada à rede móvel existente. Com a evolução da tecnologia de acesso por rádio, a função da célula pequena vem mudando ao longo do percurso dessa evolução. Na época do 2G/3G, a função dela era fornecer cobertura em casos extremos. Posteriormente, com a LTE (Long Term Evolution - evolução a longo prazo), as redes não só fornecem cobertura, mas também capacidade. As células pequenas eram utilizadas para fornecer a capacidade de acréscimo onde necessário, sem que fosse preciso acrescentar um espectro adicional. Atualmente, na era 5G, as operadoras de redes utilizam a densificação como uma importante estratégia para fornecer serviços de 5G contínuos, que também requerem cobertura, capacidade e desempenho. Com casos de uso que requerem implementações de ondas milimétricas (mmW) 5G, faz sentido utilizar pequenas células para densificação devido às características de proliferação dessas ondas.Nesta nota de aplicação, esclareceremos os aspectos de testes de uma célula pequena durante todo o ciclo de vida do produto, com particular foco na solução de teste de produção para o dispositivo em teste (DUT) de célula pequena em FR2 (faixa de frequência 2 e banda de frequência de ondas milimétricas), em um ambiente over-the-air (OTA), para a opção 6 dividida com base no testador de comunicações de rádio R&S®CMP200 e na câmara OTA R&S®CMQ200. Na segunda metade da nota de aplicação, o documento é complementado com mais informações sobre soluções de teste usadas em aplicações típicas de teste de pesquisa e desenvolvimento.
