A minimum set of data (MSD) is sent to a public safety answering point (PSAP). The existing voice call allows the PSAP operator to talk to the occupants. The operator can then dispatch an ambulance if necessary and use the MSD and voice call information to optimize the response of the emergency services. The voice call and MSD can be via communicated via different generations of mobile networks.

Rohde & Schwarz first to test 5G eCall interoperability of Quectel’s 5G module with its wideband radio communication testerQuectel Wireless Solutions, a global IoT solutions provider, and Rohde & Schwarz have successfully validated Quectel’s innovative 5G eCall module, part of the AG56xN series of automotive modules. For the test, the R&S CMX500 wideband radio communication tester has been used. The test setup will be shown at Mobile World Congress 2024.

No caso de um grave acidente de viação, uma chamada de emergência (E112) é iniciada manual ou automaticamente a partir de um veículo para uma agência de emergência, e complementada pelo envio de um conjunto mínimo de dados (MSD) com informações relevantes sobre o veículo e sua posição.
