R&S®FC330ST and R&S®FC330SR frequency converters are designed for upconversion and downconversion of intermediate frequency (IF) signals to and from the 220 GHz to 330 GHz RF frequency range. A high-performance mixer with low conversion loss ensures precise measurements, while the integrated IF amplifier enhances sensitivity and signal performance. R&S®FC330 frequency converters support a wide IF range up to 35 GHz for transmitting and receiving ultrawideband signals.
The optional R&S®FC330-Z50 external amplifier has a low noise figure and can boost transmitter output power or act as a low-noise amplifier to improve the receiver sensitivity.
R&S®FC330 frequency converters for upconversion and downconversion have seamless frequency coverage from 220 GHz to 330 GHz with a WR3.4 waveguide RF connector in line with the WR3 EIA standard. A set of five external bandpass filters, each with a 30 GHz passband, support flexible operations and minimize unwanted signals. These filters help selectively eliminate sideband and local oscillator signals for top performance across the entire frequency range.

The IF frequency range of the R&S®FC330 from 1 GHz to 35 GHz enables the transmission of wideband signals and provides the user a wide range of options for the best possible IF/LO combination. Each frequency converter is characterized in the factory and comes with measurement and alignment data stored on a USB flash drive. The flexible customization allows precise system control to generate a specific RF frequency and is an ideal solution for various applications.

The R&S®FC330-Z50 external amplifier operates within the 220 GHz to 330 GHz frequency range. The amplifier can be directly powered from the R&S®FC330 and typically has a gain of 15 dB, delivering signals with up to +8 dBm output power (measured at saturation). The low noise figure means the amplifier works in the transmit (TX) and receive (RX) directions.
