R&S®RTP and R&S®RTO oscilloscopes support serial triggering and decoding of 100BASE-T1 or BroadR-Reach and 1000BASE-T1 Automotive Ethernet standards. Efficiently trigger on frame start, idle frames, MAC frames including destination and source address, frame types and on various error conditions. The MXO 4 series support 10BASE-T1S and MXO 5 series support both 10BASE-T1S and 100BASE-T1 decoding.

Easy access via the R&S®RT-ZF5 test fixture
The R&S®RT-ZF5 test fixture lets users decode both the forward and reverse data streams of either 100BASE-T1 or 1000BASE-T1 networks at the same time. Users can compensate fixture directivity for accurate decoding results.

Display of ternary symbols, scrambled, descrambled or reversed bits
The decoded Ethernet data can be analyzed via various decode layers. Set the oscilloscope to display ternary symbols to directly correlate decoding with the captured analog waveform. Further analysis of scrambled or descrambled bits is also possible.

Distinguish every Ethernet frame via simple color coding
Color-coding of decoded Ethernet frames makes captured data analysis quick and easy. All decoded data are perfectly overlaid in time with the captured analog waveform. Address and data content can be displayed in hex, bin or ASCII formats. The protocol details can also be displayed in a concise table. R&S®SmartGrid has flexible screen setup to provide the best overview of the decoded data in seconds.

Powerful search and navigation of recorded acquisitions
Comprehensive search functions simplify the analysis of long signal sequences. Users can search decoded data based on different criteria, such as specific MAC addresses or certain error conditions. All detected events are shown in a table with timestamps. A zoom function for the decode data makes navigating through events extremely easy.
