Key facts

  • Strong protection against nearby lightning strikes
  • Low weight, minimal wind load
  • Rugged design, ideal for use on ships
  • RCS optimized

UHF omnidirectional antenna for vertical polarization

The R&S®HK001E UHF coaxial dipole is a vertically polarized omnidirectional antenna for both stationary and mobile use. It can operate even in tough mechanical and climatic conditions, covering the receive and transmit frequency range from 225 MHz to 450 MHz. A mast stub mounted on the dipole base plate provides a convenient antenna interface for customer applications. The entire antenna system is splash water resistant. The antenna can be installed in a suspended or upright position.

Features & benefits

DC grounding for lightning strike protection

For protecting personnel and equipment

All metallic parts of the R&S®HK001E are DC grounded to direct potential overvoltage surges such as lightning strikes into the ground, protecting personnel and connected equipment.

Low weight, minimal wind load

For easy mounting

Thanks to its lightweight design and low wind load, the R&S®HK001E can be mounted on masts and structures which are not designed for heavy loads.

Rugged design

Designed to operate even in tough mechanical and climatic conditions

Thanks to its sturdy design and low wind load, the R&S®HK001E can withstand wind speeds of up to 275 km/h. It is designed for high shock and vibration requirements like e.g. on ships.

RCS optimized

The shape of the R&S®HK001E has been optimized during the design phase, which is important for the electrical behavior of the antenna, e.g. its radiation pattern. The antenna shape also determines the radar cross section (RCS). For deployment on naval vessels, the RCS must be as low as possible.
