Los convertidores de potencia con topología de puente completo se utilizan con frecuencia en módulos de telecomunicaciones y servidores que tienen que ser compactos, eficientes y económicos, lo que hace que sean más complejos. Cuando se ha construido el primer prototipo es necesario validar los patrones de conmutación de todos los conmutadores maestros primarios, incluidos los de los rectificadores síncronos. Esta validación compleja exige medidas correctas para prevenir patrones de conmutación que puedan acarrear consecuencias nefastas. El uso de herramientas de medida adecuadas y un profundo conocimiento son fundamentales para identificar eventos inesperados en el proceso de conmutación del convertidor.

Un convertidor de conmutación CA/CC offline no dispone de una alimentación de polarización por separado que suministre corriente al propio circuito integrado de control. En este caso se añaden una bobina primaria auxiliar y componentes discretos para suministrar corriente al circuito de control. La verificación de esta circuitería es esencial y requiere medidas exactas y detalladas del nivel de señal y del tiempo. La secuencia de inicio requiere bastante tiempo, aspecto que debe tenerse en cuenta en la medida y exige un instrumento con suficiente memoria.
