A finales del año 2020 había en todo el mundo más de 20 000 productos del Internet de las cosas (IdC) funcionando en las bandas de frecuencia con y sin licencia. Esta tendencia se mantendrá probablemente al alza en los próximos años, puesto que cada vez se va imponiendo más un estilo de vida conectado e inteligente. Como resultado, el entorno radioeléctrico estará mucho más ocupado y resultará mucho más difícil de gestionar que en la actualidad. Para ayudar a entender la complejidad del espectro de radiofrecuencia, Rohde & Schwarz publicó en 2021 un informe técnico en el que se observaba la actividad en el espectro en diferentes ubicaciones a distintas horas del día. Dichas ubicaciones se seleccionaron en función de su densidad de población y el número de transmisores de RF conocidos y sus frecuencias en las respectivas ubicaciones. Entre las conclusiones extraídas, destaca que en las bandas ISM, en promedio, la utilización de canales es más elevada, puesto que la mayoría de los dispositivos del IdC operan en el espectro sin licencia. El informe recomienda que, al llevar a cabo test de coexistencia inalámbrica, las condiciones de prueba deberían reflejar el entorno de RF operativo en el que está previsto que funcione el dispositivo. De lo contrario, la caracterización del rendimiento de RF solamente representaría un caso ideal, que no existe en la realidad. Puesto que no siempre es posible probar todos los dispositivos en condiciones reales, es necesario elaborar metodologías de test apropiadas para replicar el entorno real de la mejor forma posible.Esto contribuirá a entender mejor cómo se comportará el receptor del dispositivo de RF en diferentes condiciones de RF. También es recomendable realizar medidas que permitan analizar el comportamiento del dispositivo en el futuro, cuando el espectro sea más complejo. Por consiguiente, una caracterización detallada de la capacidad del receptor de RF para manejar señales interferentes dentro y fuera de banda es también conveniente.En lo referente a los requisitos reglamentarios de conformidad para garantizar la coexistencia inalámbrica, ANSI C63.27 es actualmente el único estándar de test publicado que especifica cómo verificar la coexistencia en los dispositivos. La complejidad del test se basa en el riesgo que implica para la salud del usuario un posible fallo ocasionado por una o varias señales interferentes. El estándar también aporta a los fabricantes de dispositivos indicaciones en relación con los sistemas de medida, entornos de prueba, tipos de señal interferente y estrategia, parámetros de medida de calidad del rendimiento de la capa física utilizando indicadores clave de rendimiento (KPI) y parámetros de la capa de aplicación para el rendimiento inalámbrico funcional de extremo a extremo (FWP).En esta nota de aplicación se han seguido las indicaciones de la versión ANSI C63.27-2021 en cuanto al sistema de medida, los parámetros de medida y las señales interferentes. Permite al usuario formarse una idea clara de cómo debe configurar instrumentos estandarizados de R&S para generar tanto la señal deseada como señales interferentes parásitas y realizar medidas para monitorizar el rendimiento del dispositivo en términos de tasa de errores por paquete, latencia de ping y caudal de datos.Esta nota de aplicación proporciona instrucciones paso a paso para llevar a cabo medidas siguiendo el método conducido y radiado.
