Emitech, a company specializing in applied testing for product qualification in the automotive sector, has inaugurated its new vehicle test center in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France. The EMC chamber is equipped with a complete EMC test system from Rohde & Schwarz including R&S BBA150, R&S BBA130 and R&S BBL200 broadband amplifiers, R&S ESW44 test receivers, R&S SMB100B RF signal generators and power meters. At the inauguration ceremony in March, Rohde & Schwarz also demonstrated its innovative solution for advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) testing.

La banda ultra ancha (UWB) es una tecnología de radiotransmisión de banda ancha y corto alcance especificada para la comunicación de dispositivo a dispositivo en el espectro sin licencia. Se trata de una tecnología de posicionamiento por radiofrecuencia que permite determinar de forma precisa y segura la distancia entre dispositivos móviles emparejados, con una alta resistencia a interferencias, y que brinda al mismo tiempo un muy bajo consumo energético y buena coexistencia con otros sistemas de radiocomunicación. UWB se emplea para toda una gama de aplicaciones diferentes, como seguimiento de recursos, pago seguro, rastreadores de personas, servicios de localización en tiempo real y acceso o arranque de vehículos sin llave, etc. Según las previsiones de ABI Research, la cifra de equipos suministrados anualmente hasta 2026 superará con creces los mil millones. Prácticamente todos los smartphones comercializados en 2026 incorporarán servicios UWB.En cuanto a las pruebas de los dispositivos compatibles con UWB, se dispone en general, como para otros productos inalámbricos, de dos metodologías: por un lado, el modo de prueba tradicional (o modo de prueba conducido) con una conexión de RF por cable entre el instrumento de medida y el dispositivo sometido a prueba, o bien, por otro lado, el modo de medida por el aire u «over the air» (OTA) en una cámara anecoica OTA. A veces, las medidas en modo conducido no son convenientes o resultan impracticables debido a determinados factores limitadores, como p. ej. los costes, el espacio, la complejidad y la imposibilidad de acceder directamente a los conectores de RF del producto. 5G New Radio (NR) es una tecnología de radiotransmisión especificada por 3GPP y se publicó por primera vez en la release 15 de 3GPP.
