The power electronics community will come together again at PCIM Europe in Nuremberg from May 10 to 12, 2022. Rohde & Schwarz is joining to demonstrate its latest test solutions for developers of power supplies and other power electronics. The company’s experts share their know-how about applications like stability analysis, power integrity and component testing as well as EMI debugging and EMI precompliance testing at the Rohde & Schwarz booth 452 in hall 7.

Este documento describe la caracterización de condensadores electrolíticos de aluminio utilizados específicamente en aplicaciones de convertidores CA-CC. En él se explica la importancia crítica de esta tecnología de condensadores desde el punto de vista de la vida útil, y por qué no se puede sustituir sencillamente por cualquier otra tecnología de este tipo. Se tratan también diferentes efectos del envejecimiento en el condensador, y se presenta el uso del condensador en distintas topologías de convertidor CA-CC. Para analizar el condensador de forma más detallada se utilizan circuitos de simulación, antes de pasar a las medidas oportunas para demostrar un ejemplo real de una fuente conmutada.Tras una introducción a los principios básicos y a la teoría de los condensadores electrolíticos de aluminio, el documento presenta todas las medidas importantes y posibles de parámetros del condensador, como capacidad eléctrica, resistencia serie equivalente (ESR) y corriente de rizado. Entre ellas figuran también las medidas en circuito que pueden realizarse con un osciloscopio. Para conseguir medidas de alta precisión se utiliza también un puente LCR. Seguidamente, se expone una comparación de ambos métodos de medida, analizando el hardware de medida necesario para las medidas en circuito y las medidas de puente.Finalmente, se presentan dos métodos distintos para calcular la vida útil y un ejemplo real para comparar las ventajas y desventajas de cada uno de los métodos.Nuestro agradecimiento a Frank Puhane, de Würth eiSos GmbH & Co.
