The latest radio resource management (RRM) conformance work item from the Global Certification Forum (GCF) has reached “Active” status following the approval of the Rohde & Schwarz R&S TS8980FTA-M1 5G conformance test system as the first to meet test platform approval criteria (TPAC). The next Bluetooth® release is expected to be ratified soon. One important new feature is the Unified Test Protocol (UTP) Test Mode for Bluetooth® Low Energy, that will complement existing test methods. Rohde & Schwarz has upgraded its industry leading R&S SMW200A vector signal generator and its midrange counterpart, the R&S SMM100A. With significant enhancements in error vector magnitude (EVM) performance, the evolved R&S SMW200A is a robust choice for both 5G NR FR3 research and high demand RF applications like power amplifier testing.
