Explainer video: Automotive radar EOL calibration and alignment using the R&S®RadEsT

Because radar is the fundamental technology that enables advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS), ensuring radar’s performance at vehicle level on the production line is critical.

Historically, OEMs have used bulky, imprecise, and noisy mechanical reflectors to conduct EOL radar alignment and calibration. However, as the automotive industry adopts new radar technologies such as imaging radars, distributed architecture and MIMO sensors to achieve higher levels of ADAS, more demanding calibration and alignment rocedures are required, and the traditional techniques are no longer adequate.

This video explains how the RadEsT target generator offers an accurate, space-efficient and more sophisticated lternative to mechanical reflectors for EOL automotive radar calibration and alignment. It is able to precisely simulate moving objects and ADAS scenarios on the production line in a reliable and repeatable way, ensuring performance and safety on the road.
