New compliance test automation software from Rohde & Schwarz for IEEE 802.3 cable assemblies allows for precise and time-saving compliance tests of high-speed cables and backplanes according to the IEEE 802.3bj, by, cd and ck standards. The R&S ZNrun vector network analyzer automation suite controls a vector network analyzer and a switching solution from Rohde & Schwarz to provide automated testing of high-speed Ethernet cable assemblies, considerably reducing the testing time and potential errors compared to manual Ethernet cable assembly test methods. Academia and key industry players have identified the D-Band, ranging from 110 GHz to 170 GHz, as a candidate frequency band for beyond 5G and 6G mobile communications as well as for future automotive radar applications. Rohde & Schwarz continues its pioneering sub-THz research efforts with focus in this frequency range, reaching new milestones. In collaboration with IHP, Rohde & Schwarz has performed the industry’s first full 2D/3D antenna characterization of transceiver modules operating in the D-Band.

Kyocera has developed an innovative mmWave phased array antenna module (PAAM) that simultaneously creates multiple beams in different directions at different frequencies. These PAAMs can enable a wide range of 5G FR2 infrastructure installations, including site co-location of different operators running networks on different frequency bands, as well as critical infrastructure threat-sensing, homeland security, and other high-reliability applications. По мере развития технологии радиодоступа роль малой соты непрерывно менялась. В эпоху 2G/3G она обеспечивала покрытие в углах. Позднее в сетях LTE она обеспечивала не только покрытие, но и пропускную способность. Здесь малые соты при необходимости расширяли пропускную способность сети без добавления спектра. Сегодня в эпоху 5G операторы сетей используют уплотнение в качестве важной стратегии для обеспечения непрерывной доступности услуг 5G, для которых также требуются покрытие, пропускная способность и рабочие характеристики сетей.
