The presentation provides an introduction and overview of one of the major topics of 5G Advanced: Network Energy Savings (NES). The focus is on the key technical aspects in 3GPP standardization on NES in release 18 and 19, in particular the current discussions on pros and cons.
In addition, a brief outlook is given on the technical evolution of NES, on what has been achieved so far and on possible enhancements and challenges in release 20 for 5G Advanced, but also 6G.
