London/Madrid, September 10, 2025 – Rohde & Schwarz Spain has successfully delivered its cutting-edge external communications systems to the Spanish Navy and Navantia, for the first of the navy's new F110 frigates. This significant milestone marks a major step forward in the modernization of the Spanish Navy's fleet.
The F110 frigates, also known as the Bonifaz-class multi-mission frigates, are designed to replace the Santa Maria-class frigates and will play a crucial role in force and fleet protection, maritime security, joint and combined missions, and preventing conventional and asymmetric threats. Rohde & Schwarz Spain has supplied a a/its turnkey fully integrated external communication system, including the R&S Series4100 HF and R&S Series4400 VHF/UHF, HF wideband, along with engineering services and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS).
