7layers and Rohde & Schwarz present pioneering Bluetooth® RF Test Solution to validate Bluetooth® Channel Sounding7layers successfully validated its Interlab Test Solution Bluetooth® RF for Channel Sounding qualification, running with the R&S CMW wideband radio communication tester. Developed jointly with Rohde & Schwarz and leading chipset manufacturers, it is the first test platform listed by the Bluetooth® SIG to perform Channel Sounding qualification testing with Bluetooth® RFPHY release 6.0. Bluetooth® Channel Sounding is a new secure fine ranging feature that will enable unprecedented positioning accuracy for consumer and commercial applications.

Rohde & Schwarz and Ceva present industry’s first test solution for the upcoming Bluetooth® OTA UTP Test ModeThe next Bluetooth® release is expected to be ratified soon. One important new feature is the Unified Test Protocol (UTP) Test Mode for Bluetooth® Low Energy, that will complement existing test methods. The UTP Test Mode will additionally enable over-the-air (OTA) controlled device testing, which will simplify measurements of small and highly integrated devices enormously, since no direct wired connection to the tester is needed. Rohde & Schwarz and Ceva, in close cooperation, have developed the world’s first test solution for this new test mode, making its debut at embedded world 2025.

The demonstration at the embedded world Exhibition & Conference in Nuremberg, Germany, will be run on an R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester. The Bluetooth® Channel Sounding feature will enable unprecedented positioning accuracy for consumer and commercial applications. For the test, the R&S CMX500 wideband radio communication tester has been used. The test setup will be shown at Mobile World Congress 2024.
