Rohde & Schwarz is set to present a comprehensive suite of EMC and field strength test equipment at the EMV show 2025 in Stuttgart from March 25 to 27, 2025. The display will include standalone instruments, software, and systems designed to meet various industry standards. The next Bluetooth® release is expected to be ratified soon. One important new feature is the Unified Test Protocol (UTP) Test Mode for Bluetooth® Low Energy, that will complement existing test methods. The UTP Test Mode will additionally enable over-the-air (OTA) controlled device testing, which will simplify measurements of small and highly integrated devices enormously, since no direct wired connection to the tester is needed. Rohde & Schwarz and Ceva, in close cooperation, have developed the world’s first test solution for this new test mode, making its debut at embedded world 2025.

To showcase the potential of network energy saving (NES) in open radio access networks (O-RAN), Rohde & Schwarz and VIAVI Solutions have collaborated with Analog Devices. At Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, visitors can experience the joint O-RU test solution of the two T&M companies as it verifies the low power consumption of Analog Devices’ new Titan O-RU platform according to ETSI specifications. These network energy saving tests help to significantly reduce energy consumption and OPEX in O-RAN integrations.

The demonstration at Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona is based on the PVT360A performance vector tester from Rohde & Schwarz characterizing the Pegatron 5G PR1450 O-RU. It shows the flexible adaptability of the PVT360A to a variety of setups – all in a small form factor. The performance vector tester is now available with a new high-power option, also showcased at MWC 2025.

KT has collaborated with Rohde & Schwarz and VIAVI Solutions to develop non-terrestrial network (NTN) technology that overcomes the disadvantages of long propagation delays in satellite communication environments. With this technology, a bandwidth of more than 10 Mbps is possible even between a geostationary (GEO) satellite and user device. This increased transmission efficiency was leveraged to successfully transmit full HD video.
