Rohde & Schwarz UK are seeking a Regional Sales Engineer to drive sales and business development across Scotland and the North-East of England. This role combines technical acumen with commercial sales ability to deliver industry leading Test & Measurement solutions.The successful candidate will manage and grow a defined territory, develop relationships with existing customers, and identify new opportunities across key industrial sectors. Working closely with internal product specialists and application engineers, the Regional Sales Engineer will support the full sales cycle from initial engagement and technical consultation through to order closure.This is a field-based position requiring regular travel across Scotland and the North-East of England with occasional travel within the UK to connect with the wider team and to Rohde & Schwarz headquarters in Munich for training.

Your tasks

  • Region Overview – Scotland & North-East England The region includes technology, defence, and industrial centres and covers:
  • Aerospace and defence organisations and their supply chains
  • Wireless and telecommunications companies developing next-generation networks
  • Electronics and semiconductor design and manufacturing companies
  • Engineering consultancies, system integrators, and advanced technology companies
  • Energy sector technology providers and communications infrastructure organisations
  • Key Markets / Applications
  • 5G and emerging 6G wireless technology development and validation
  • RF and microwave design, development and testing
  • Aerospace and defence communications, radar and electronic systems
  • Semiconductor and electronics design validation
  • Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing and compliance
  • Advanced communications and signal analysis applications
  • Power Electronics
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow sales of Rohde & Schwarz Test & Measurement products across Scotland & North-East England
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within key accounts and emerging markets
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to maximize long-term revenue
  • Undertaking presentations, demonstrations, and solution consultations
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and responses to tenders
  • Participate in commercial negotiations and close sales opportunities
  • Collaborate with product specialists and application engineers to deliver customer solutions
  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM reporting
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regional technology developments

Your qualifications

  • Qualifications
  • Ideally HNC or Degree qualified in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • We will consider applicants with relevant work experience but without formal technical qualifications
  • Experience
  • 3–5 years’ experience in technical sales
  • Experience selling technical solutions in a B2B environment
  • Proven track record of achieving, ideally exceeding sales targets
  • Skills & Competencies
  • Good understanding of electronic or RF measurement technologies
  • Excellent customer-facing and communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building capability
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into commercially viable solutions
  • Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a field-based role
