A network operator’s view on current NTN possibilities and areas for future research

In recent years, non-terrestrial networks have developed significantly: Several satellite constellations are already in place or planned, and 3GPP has described solutions for the integration of satellite networks and terrestrial mobile networks across two releases. This means that initial services can already be realised for end customers, even if further research activities are required for the specific needs in Europe.
