Quectel Wireless Solutions, a global IoT solutions provider, and Rohde & Schwarz have successfully validated Quectel’s innovative 5G eCall module, part of the AG56xN series of automotive modules. For the test, the R&S CMX500 wideband radio communication tester has been used. The test setup will be shown at Mobile World Congress 2024.

Rohde & Schwarz has partnered with Bullitt and MediaTek to fully test and verify the world’s first satellite-to-mobile messaging 5G smartphone in line with 3GPP Release 17. The groundbreaking test solution from Rohde & Schwarz verifies that SOS messaging and two-way messaging work reliably in no-coverage scenarios via non-terrestrial networks (NTN) in line with 3GPP. At MWC Barcelona, a test setup is showcased at the Rohde & Schwarz booth featuring a rugged 5G smartphone from Bullitt with integrated MediaTek 3GPP NTN Rel.17 chipset as DUT.

Rohde & Schwarz and MediaTek have successfully verified new location based services (LBS) features for 5G NR as defined in 3GPP Release 16. These features will not only improve emergency caller location, but also support upcoming LBS-related use cases in challenging indoor and outdoor environments with both, satellite based and terrestrial technologies. The solution consists of the SMBV100B GNSS simulator emulating the satellite constellation, the RTM oscilloscope to analyze the 1 pulse per second timing and the NGC power supply to perform standard-compliant power on/off steps.
