Questo documento descrive la caratterizzazione dei condensatori elettrolitici in alluminio utilizzati specificamente nelle applicazioni dei convertitori di potenza AC-DC. Verrà discusso il motivo per cui questa tecnologia di condensatori è critica per quanto riguarda la durata e perché non può essere sostituita semplicemente da un'altra tecnologia di condensatori. Verranno discussi i diversi effetti dell'invecchiamento del condensatore. Verrà presentato l'utilizzo del condensatore in diverse topologie di convertitori AC-DC.
