The company will contribute its broad expertise in mobile device and automotive technology testing. Soluzione di calibrazione e verifica

La tecnologia UWB (Ultra-Wideband, banda ultralarga) è una tecnologia radio a banda larga a corto raggio progettata per facilitare la comunicazione da dispositivo a dispositivo e che opera in uno spettro senza licenza. Si tratta di una tecnologia a radiofrequenza che consente determinare la distanza peer-to-peer in modo accurato e sicuro tra dispositivi mobili con una forte resistenza alle interferenze, consumando pochissima energia e coesistendo bene con altri sistemi di comunicazione radio. La tecnologia UWB viene utilizzata per una serie di applicazioni diverse, come la localizzazione di beni, i pagamenti sicuri, i tracker personali, i servizi di localizzazione in tempo reale e l'accesso e l'avviamento senza chiavi di un veicolo, ecc. Secondo le previsioni di ABI Research, entro il 2026 le spedizioni annuali di dispositivi UWB supereranno il miliardo. Quasi tutti gli smartphone distribuiti nel 2026 supporteranno i servizi UWB.Per quanto riguarda il test di un dispositivo UWB, in generale si possono adottare due metodologie di collaudo, come per altri prodotti wireless: la modalità di collaudo tradizionale (la cosiddetta modalità di collaudo in modalità condotta) con connessione RF cablata tra l'apparecchiatura di misura e il dispositivo in prova (DUT) o la modalità di collaudo via radio, detta 'over the air' (OTA) in una camera anecoica OTA. A volte, non è sempre possibile o necessario eseguire i test in modalità condotta a causa di fattori limitanti, come il costo, lo spazio, la complessità e l'accesso diretto ai connettori RF del prodotto. In questo caso, il test OTA sta diventando un approccio non evitabile. Inoltre, il test in modalità OTA riflette l'utilizzo del dispositivo in prova in condizioni reali.In questa nota applicativa viene descritta la soluzione di test OTA di R&S® che copre i test sul trasmettitore (Tx), sul ricevitore (Rx) e del tempo di volo (ToF) in un ambiente Wireless Automated Testing (WMT). I risultati delle misurazioni riportati nell'intero documento si basano sul circuito integrato per applicazioni automobilistiche UWB NXP Trimension™ NCJ29D5.
