Rohde & Schwarz has increased the maximum measurable frequency of its three-path diode power sensors to an unrivalled 67 GHz. The three-path technology enables extremely fast and accurate power measurements with a high-sensitivity, portable instrument of minimum size and weight. This frequency extension makes high speed power measurements possible for additional applications such as IEEE 802.11ay and 802.11ad WiGig Wireless LAN, millimeter-wave terrestrial short distance communication links, and satellite-satellite links operating at 60 GHz.

This document provides the technical specifications of the R&S®NRP power meter family.

In the satellite sector, components, subsystems and entire satellites must be qualified in a thermal vacuum chamber before they can be used in space. This qualification proves that equipment can not only survive but also function in the harsh conditions encountered during launch and in space.

This application note addresses the diverse possibilities of interoperability between Rohde & Schwarz power sensors and Rohde & Schwarz signal generators. All current and many legacy Rohde & Schwarz signal generators offer the capability of directly connecting power sensors. This enables power measurements without the need of a base unit or separate PC to display the readings. Furthermore, sensors can be used for special tasks like filling a user correction table or continuously controlling levels at crucial points in the measurement configuration.
