At the EMV 2025 tradeshow in Stuttgart, Rohde & Schwarz displays for the first time its R&S HF1444G14 High-gain EMI microwave antenna with outstanding performance. The antenna covers a frequency range from 14.9 GHz to 44 GHz. It meets the requirements of the standards CISPR 16-1-4 and CISPR 16-2-3. Precise mechanical construction and optionally available individual calibration make the antenna ideal for electromagnetic interference measurements. With the R&S HF1444G14 Rohde & Schwarz addresses the trend towards higher frequencies and accelerates and simplifies the test of large objects in smaller chambers.

Rohde & Schwarz has updated the R&S FSWP for upcoming applications. The new option R&S FSWP-B56G extends the frequency range up to 56 GHz. With the support of external high-end sources as local oscillators it combines the advantage of an easy-to-use signal source analyzer and a high-end phase noise tester. For additive and residual phase noise measurements on amplifiers Rohde & Schwarz has extended the frequency range of the internal signal source up to 54 GHz. In addition, a new and very easy method for noise figure measurements has been added.

The Institute of Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology (IEMN, Lille, France) and Rohde & Schwarz have expanded their collaboration to research THz communications that utilize photonic technologies. In a recent demonstration, IEMN reached a milestone when researchers achieved generated a 300 GHz bidirectional link over an outdoor distance of 645 m for use in future 6G backhauling scenarios. The R&S SMA100B microwave signal generator from Rohde & Schwarz was a crucial component in the performance test setup. The R&S SMA100B provides an ultra-low phase noise signal that helps accelerate THz communications research and development to ready it for industrialization.

Rohde & Schwarz is launching the new R&S NRP170TWG(N) thermal power sensor for precise power level measurements in the D-band. It is the only RF power sensor on the market that offers full traceability to national metrology institutes (NMI) in the frequency range from 110 GHz to 170 GHz, an important prerequisite for commercializing the frequency band. The R&S NRP170TWG(N) hardware is designed to reduce measurement noise and drift, while remaining very accurate and easy to use. A measurement campaign by Rohde & Schwarz and Greenerwave recently characterized the configurable radio wave reflection properties of a novel FR2 RIS module developed by Greenerwave with an over-the-air (OTA) antenna test system from Rohde & Schwarz. It is one of the first real measurements confirming that a metamaterial-based RIS can improve the coverage and efficiency of wireless communications performance, especially for 5G FR2.
