Rohde & Schwarz introduces improved performance for phase noise analysis and voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) measurements. Both the high end R&S FSWP phase noise analyzer and VCO tester plus signal and spectrum analyzer in one instrument, and the R&S FSPN dedicated phase noise analyzer and VCO tester, are now upgraded. Simultaneous hardware and software upgrades improve the market-leading performance even further, reducing noise levels and measurement times, and increasing accuracy. Both analyzers include test sequence recording functions (SCPI recorder), unique for this class of instrument.

For high-speed, high-throughput testing of all forms of 5G FR1 base stations and small cells as well as for RF components characterization or production, Rohde & Schwarz introduces the new R&S PVT360A performance vector tester. Within a minimal footprint, the compact single box instrument provides maximum performance with its signal generation and analysis capabilities. Demanding requirements of the test environment such as minimum error vector magnitude (EVM) in test signals and high test throughput are all fulfilled. The optional second generator and analyzer support multiport component tests, true MIMO testing or simply double the test capacity.

Rohde & Schwarz drives 6G with sub-THz channel propagation measurements

The development of sub-THz communications as envisioned for 6G will only be possible with a solid understanding of the properties of electromagnetic wave propagation. The new frequency range between 100 GHz and 330 GHz gains worldwide interest and thus has been the focus of recent Rohde & Schwarz measurement campaigns. The company’s findings have contributed to the report of the ITU-R Working Party 5D (W5PD), which will provide information to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) World Radio Conference 2023, where frequency bands beyond 100 GHz are expected to be discussed and considered for allocation.
