The example shows an error vector magnitude (EVM) measurement on a two-channel 5.2 Gsample analog to digital converter from Texas Instruments using the R&S®SMW200A vector signal generator, the R&S®SMA100B RF and microwave analog signal generator and the R&S®VSE vector signal analysis software from Rohde & Schwarz.

With the R&S VSE signal explorer software, amplifiers can be characterized in depth. ACLR, raw EVM, gain compression and many more results can be measured from a single capture using almost any input signal – whether mobile comms, satellite or just a ramp signal.

Test setup is fully controlled via the VIAVI O-RU Test Manager, running on a PC together with the R&S®VSE (Vector Signal Explorer) for RF monitoring. The test setup can also be used when M-MIMO with beamforming capabilities is integrated into the O-RU.
