As Aerospace & Defense Test Business Development Manager, you will be part of a highly focused and specialized team. Our Business Development Manager may be based anywhere in the US.

Your tasks

  • Create new business opportunities while expanding the Rohde & Schwarz brand awareness in the AD market segment.
  • Primary objective is to promote the Rohde & Schwarz test equipment portfolio to the Aerospace and Defense market space.
  • Understand EMSO applications and focus on key applications that can drive sales and customer engagements.
  • Work closely with the other members of the business development team; sharing information and developing a complete understanding of the needs for Radar/ EW market.
  • Provide input and feedback and implement growth activities in close alignment with the worldwide Market Segment Management, Product Marketing, R&D, and Service organizations
  • Develop a business plan that outlines how Rohde & Schwarz products can address business trends in this market segment.
  • Coordinate a diverse and decentralized team of Account Managers and Application Engineers in an effort to identify and leverage from industry interdependencies and win key opportunities
  • Single point of contact for Account Managers, Product Marketing, Marketing, and Product Planning.

Your qualifications

  • BSEE (or equivalent). Strong RF and test equipment background preferred.
  • An in-depth understanding of Radar/EW, EMSO technology, and DoD acquisition methodologies.
  • Commensurate sales experience with a solid understanding of current technologies and industry interdependencies within the DoD and Prime contractor space.
  • The ideal candidates will have a passion for selling in close cooperation with local Account Managers and Application Engineers, an intense focus on customer service, and an overwhelming desire to succeed.
  • An established and extensive network within the DoD, DoD Primes, and 3PL organizations preferable.
  • The ability and willingness to travel up to 50% both nationally and internationally.
  • Analytical skills and entrepreneurial approach to identify business opportunities, formulate strategies and deliver results.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer interface skills
  • To be considered, candidates must have US citizenship or permanent work authorization.

The total compensation for this position is $150K-$215K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
