Rohde & Schwarz USA, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer in our Columbia, MD location to provide strategic direction, coordination, and oversite of R&D projects within our secure communication, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance business unit. Top applicants will possess strong project management experience in entrepreneurial environments, a demonstrated ability to communicate and inspire across teams and functions, technical and entrepreneurial gravitas, and experience managing products through the entire product lifecycle.
Your tasks
- Lead and manage R&D projects, overseeing planning, execution, and successful completion.
- Assist in new product definition, development, from initial idea and research through design, testing, and market launch, ensuring a seamless transition between phases.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and budgets, while monitoring progress and adjusting as necessary.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and strategic direction to stakeholders at all levels, fostering transparency, and ensuring alignment and support.
- Monitor industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to inform project direction and maintain the company's competitive edge.
- Maximize the impact of R&D investments by developing and executing strategic plans and roadmaps that drive innovation and growth.
- Conduct risk analysis to identify potential risks and challenges within projects and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Ensure R&D activities comply with internal processes and industry standards and regulations, including the proper documentation and protection of intellectual property.
