Rohde & Schwarz showcases unified next-generation broadcasting ecosystem at SET Expo 2026 in Brazil

At the trade show, Rohde & Schwarz will present live end-to-end transmissions – including a MIMO DTV+ setup and a complete 5G Broadcast chain demonstrating mobile reception on commercial devices.

Munich/São Paulo, July 29, 2026 – Rohde & Schwarz will present its latest innovations in next-generation broadcasting at SET Expo 2026, demonstrating its commitment to being a key technology partner in the rollout of the DTV+ transmission network. Exhibiting at booth 52 from August 17 to 20, 2026 in São Paulo, Brazil, the company will showcase an integrated ecosystem featuring both DTV+ and 5G Broadcast . The demonstration will highlight how emerging broadcasting standards can enhance operational efficiency while enabling sustainable, future-proof investments in transmitter networks.

In contributing to the commercial introduction of DTV+ in Brazil, Rohde & Schwarz supports the market’s technological evolution. The first commercially active DTV+ transmitter stations in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro utilize Rohde & Schwarz transmitter technology. These live deployments validate the technology's market readiness, laying the foundation for innovative broadcast services, from 4K/8K UHD and targeted advertising to interactive shopping and advanced datacasting applications. Through software-defined transmission systems, broadcasters can adapt their network infrastructure to evolving standards while securing long-term returns on existing investments.

At the booth, visitors can experience a live demonstration of a connected next-generation ecosystem where a single content feed simultaneously serves multiple transmission paths. The DTV+ and 5G Broadcast systems use a shared Studio to Transmitter Link Transport Protocol (STLTP) feed provided by partner Speedcast, with 5G Broadcast signals received on commercial mobile devices, such as the motorola razr 60 ultra powered by a Snapdragon chipset, and Qualcomm devices.

The DTV+ component of the presentation features an efficient MIMO, illustrating technological advancement in a real-world environment.

In parallel, the 5G Broadcast setup forms a seamless, operational transmission chain. This consists of the compact R&S®TLU9 transmitter, the R&S®SDE900 software-defined exciter and the R&S®BSCC2.0 (BSCC). Because this system utilizes the exact same STLTP feed as the DTV+ application, it offers a tangible demonstration of how both technologies can coexist within a shared infrastructure.
